Dreams Do Come True

Let me start this one out my stating that this is Andy writing this blog entry, not Jen. I have been encouraged and invited several times by Jen to contribute to out blog, but I never was motivated to. We dont have kids to write about, and I really only use our blog to check out pictures and videos of my neice Louesa (I havent meet her yet in person). I just really havent had anything to blog about... untill now. It just so happened that Jen and I both had the day off today, and I some how managed to convince her that we should head over to Anaheim and take a tour of Angels stadium.
It was great, I felt like little kid all over again. We got to walk through the clubhouse, sit in the dugout, visit the press boxes, and so much more. We were pretty lucky too, because they were filming a commercial on the field for Howards Electronics, and Mike Scioscia and a couple of the players were there. We only saw Macier Izturis, he said hello to us as he was walking by. Its funny that something as simple as a $3 tour of a baseball stadium could make me so happy. Christmas came early for me this year.

To make the day even better, after we finished the tour we headed over to my new favorite restaurant, Fuddruckers, to grab lunch. Growing up in Washington, I never got to experience Fuddruckers and it wasnt untill this past Thanksgiving that my Brother in Law, Mike, took me there, and It was a match made in heaven. Well thats it for my first blog, hopefully I didnt bore you, but if you are on here reading my blog you must have been bored in the first place.

Tagged!

Ahh Megan tagged me, I've never liked being it! I'm a bit crazy so I'll just share the highlights!

1. My maiden name is Jolley and since I can remember, my friends combined my first name with my last name to make it jenjolley. Friends use to call my house and ask for jenjolley, yell my name at school and say "hi jenjolley". Everyone always said my name had a good ring to it and it was fun to say so they just combined it! Finally, in college a girl asked me what my last name was and I said um Jolley and she said so your name is jenjolley jolley! Now sometimes I forget my new last name and won't respond unless I hear jenjolley.
2. I have a freakishly weird obsession with the Osmond family...well actually just Donny & Marie. Yeah I know they really are not of my generation, but I fell in love with them when the new Donny & Marie show came out when I was in 8th grade. I would rush home just so I could watch it! I love that they are Mormon and have what seems to be the perfect family and I wanted to be part of it! Plus they totally have the most perfect teeth and smile. Now that Marie is on Dancing with the Stars I can't stop watching and my stalker behaviors have returned. When I found out they were going to be on Oprah on Friday I had a melt down knowing that I would be working and would have to miss the show! Can you say PSYCHO!
3. I have played tennis nearly everyday of my life since 3rd grade, until I started PA school (sad)! It literally was my life and I loved every minute of it! I was lucky enough to get a scholarship to Washington, so I went and spent four years basically living on a tennis court. The best part of it all I was meeting my wonderful husband Andy!
4. I am probably the only girl to ever get in a fight on the tennis court and get it broken up by an umpire! Tennis is usually seen as a quiet, proper sport but I really have never seen it that way! Sports just aren't fun unless there is a little blood!
5. I am extremely competitve in everything I do whether it be sports, card games or school. I honestly can turn anything into a competition. I really hate to loose! If I have ever offended any of you with my competitve nature, please don't take it personal and forgive me!
6. I am a wild sleeper! I talk, laugh, cry, yell and pour water on myself in my sleep! Yes, its true one night I woke up screaming because I was soaking wet and then I looked at my hands and I was holding a glass of water that I dumped all over my self. Poor Andy, nearly every morning when I wake up he tells me something weird that I had done in my sleep that night! All I can say is at least I'm fun to sleep with! (oops, that sounds bad doesn't it?)
7. I absolutely love giving presents to people! I love it so much in fact that I always have to give it to them early or better yet just tell them what I got them! I can't help it, I just get so excited I can never wait unitl their actual birthday or Christmas! Andy gets so mad at me beacuse I always want him to open up his gifts a few days early!

Santa Barbara weekend!

Andy and I went with our friends to Santa Barbara this past weekend to run the half marathon we've been training for! The weather was perfect and the race went right along the coast...it was so beautiful! We had a good time, but we are really sore and tired today! Andy did so good, he ran the 13.1 miles in 90 minutes. You would think he's been a runner all of his life but he acually just took it up about 6 months ago. We have been really busy these past few weeks moving and getting settled into our house. We really like having a bigger place! Andy celebrated his 25th birthday last Thursday and got the best gift ever when the director of the Physical Therapy department here in Cali called to tell him he had been accepted into their program! We are so excited, now we just need to make a decision if we should stay here or journey all the way to Michigan for the next 3 years!

CONGRATS ANDY!

Andy got accepted to the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Andrews University in Michigan yesterday! I am so proud of him, he has worked so hard for this! He had an interview with the director in the morning and they called him with in 4 hours to tell him they wanted him to come to their school...that's because my husband is so awesome! So, next year we'll either be moving to Michigan or staying in Cali, we're not quite sure yet, but we are excited to know he will be a physical therapy student at this time next year!

What's The Latest?

Well, not much has been going on except school for us! Andy started back last week at Cal State & I started a new rotation in urgent care/ family medicine! It's great except for all of the little kids I've treated are sending their germs home with me...today I have pink eye! Andy just heard back from Andrew's University in Michigan and they want to interview him for their Doctorate of Physical Therapy program... I am so proud of him, he has worked so hard! Andy & I are training for a half marathon next month in Santa Barbara, we ran a 15K last weekend in 40 degree, raining freezing cold weather up in the mountains. It was really hard with the elevation and all of the hills but lots of fun! I have never been so cold and hot at the same time, when we crossed the finish line steam was coming off our clothes! I had about three layers on and looked like a marshmallow in my white fleece. Andy & I both placed 1st in our age division...probably because there weren't as many runners as usual due to the weather! Oh well, it still counts right? Afterwards we went to the Angel's last home game of the regular season before playoffs! What a FABULOUS day, running in the rain and baseball!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary! We had a great day, it started out with a beautiful hike in the San Georgino Mountains to this place called John's Meadow. It was incredible! We ate lunch there and sat on a log that fell across the stram running through the meadow. Then, when we got home, Andy had the most beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting on the table for me! What a great husband! Later, we went to a really nice restaurant called Castaway that sits up on a mountain and overlooks the San Bernardino Valley. The view was beautiful, we had patio seating and there was even a live jazz band...just like at our wedding reception. It was so fun! This year has been great, I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband!

THERE'S A 1ST FOR EVERYTHING!

Andy has been trying to convince me for a while that we needed one of these but I was anti until my girls suggested it! I know I should listen to my husband first more often! Well...Andy and I have almost been married one year on September 7th, yay! Andy is starting to apply to Physical Therapy school and should start next June. In the mean time he is finishing up pre-reqs at Cal State, tutoring bilingual students at an elementary school and volunteering at a PT clinic. I am in my 2nd year of PA school and just started clinical rotations with internal medicine at Arrowhead Medical Center. I love it! We are living in Loma Linda, CA while we finish up school. Cali is great, we're an hour from the beach, and hour from the mountains, and even less than that to Angels stadium. Andy has become obsessed with baseball and adopted the Angels as his new favorite team, so we try to make it out to the nose bleed section often!
