CONGRADUATION!

Yay I graduated from PA school! SIKE! No really, our retarded school held a graduation for us on Father's Day to tease us & think we are done and have finally escaped from hell...but no we actually still have 2 months of clinical rotations left! basically, our program which we pay over 40 G a year to attend is too cheap to hold a seperate graduation for us when our program is officially done in August. It was kind of funny because everybody's family is so excited for them but all of us students looked like we were tired and couldn't care less. The good news is I'm finally done with the rotation from hell and now I get to do PAPs and deliver babies from nasty ching chongs at the county hospital for the next month, whoo hoo! All in all though it was fun weekend...Andy's parents came from
Washington, they are the best! My fam came from AZ, we all went to BJs for dinner and hung out, played games, went to Huntington Beach and stuff!

I got a cute cake for Father's day and my CONGRADUATION
as I like to call it (yes the word is in Jen's Dictionary but no one else's). We were all in the family room opening some grad gifts from the fam when we noticed Brigham (my 2 yr old nephew) was missing. Of course, we look over at the kitchen table and he was just sitting there all by himself going to town eating the uncut cake with his hands! He is so dang cute! The
kid could survive off cookies, cake, and ketchup (yes ketchup) if my sis would let him. I've never seen a kid who loves sweets so much. I think he takes after me.

Andy started physical therapy school Tuesday! I am so excited and proud of him! Of course I had to take a first day of school pic like my mom use to take of me every year, so cheesy! Way to go babe, 3 more years and you'll be Doc Martin!

WARNING!

I am officially an SPF PSYCHO!  Ever since my clinical rotation in dermatology seeing the nasty after effects of sun damage I apply sunscreen every morning as soon as I get out of the shower.  I started with spf 15, moved onto 50 and have worked my way up to 70!  Yes, this is coming from a girl who worships the sun, grew up playing tennis all day in the sun never wearing sunscreen so I could be as dark as possible.  My coach in college warned me I'd turn to leather when I was 40 if I kept hitting up the tanning bed after practice bet I never cared til now!
I went to a plastic surgery and cosmetic injectables conference last week (not because I'm getting the boob job I've always dreamed of) but so i can do botox and other procedures once I graduate.  Anyways, they had this machine you stick your face in and it scans your skin and shows you all the sun damage, dark spot, wrinkles, and what you'll look like in 5-10 yrs  without using sunscreen!  I freaked of course, especially since my new obsession with spf!  Honestly, its not worth being tan now so you look like your 60 years old when you're 40.  Its not worth having nasty scars on your face from skin cancer removal with the perma red skin look, wrinkles, and keratoses all over your arms, its so ugly!
I of course have been lecturing everyone about the sun!  Today I told one of my sun goddess gorgeous friends who never wears sunscreen she needs to wear it while she's at the beach this week and she said, oh I know I need to start ...I'm going to wear 15 with oil on top!  Gotta love it!
P.S.  My previously Joe Dirt looking husband finally shaved that nasty fu man chu just in time for my graduation Sunday...what a sweetheart!  I told him I did not want him in any pics with that thing but he didn't really seem to care so I for sure thought it was here to stay.  I got home from the hospital late and he was in bed, I reached over and felt a clean shaven face and wanted to jump for joy, it was the best part of my day!

Jen wins... kind of

So I did shave my beard, so Jen wins because I won't have a beard for her graduation this coming weekend. Jen insisted that I post a picture of myself on the blog now that I have shaved. I hope that you all enjoy.

P.S. My clavicle is feeling much better. I am transitioning out of the sling, but I am still a ways away from being 100% again. I really miss being active and I cant wait untill I can lift weights, run, and ride my mountain bike again.
