Finally...I'm a Marathoner!

Yay I did it! When I was in undergrad I always said I wanted to run a marathon when I was done playing tennis & I finally did it! It was a great experience & it was even better that I did it with friends! They are such a great support and we helped each other keep going when we thought we couldn't go any further. My goal was to run the whole 26.2 without stopping (except for a drink at the water stations) & we did it! Two of my girl friends Bridget & Breck from Mesa drove all the way out to the marathon to support me, they are the best! The drove by us at mile 24 to cheer us on & it was just what I needed to get me through the last 2 miles! It was a great feeling crossing the finish line! Andy ran an awesome half-marathon time that day! He is quite the speedster. He says next time he's going to run the full 26.2! Now, out of the goodness of my heart, and lack of shame I am going to share with you the most hilarious picture you will ever see of me, at least I hope there won't be any worse ones in the future. Andy & I saw it and laughed for at least 10 minutes. Feel free to laugh and make fun of me, if you don't something must be wrong with you!

So, the night before the marathon we were
at my mom's house and
I went into her closet in search of some old clothes I
could wear in the morning when the race started and then throw them on the side of the road once I warmed up. In the corner of the closet I saw a very bright jump suit from 1980 with tags and all calling my name! It was perfectly hilarious, ugly, and bright...exactly what I was looking for. So I told my mom I was going to wear it and throw it on the side of the road since it is over 25 years old and still has never been worn. but my sweet and foolish mother was adomont that it would come back in style one of these days and she did not want to throw it away because she thinks she will wear it some day! I proceeded o laugh at her and tell her that I will never let her wear such a hideous outfit. Then Andy put it on and started stretching in the
family room like he was preparing
for the race...he cracks me up!
